Tustin-based Karate for All held its third annual fall tournament on Saturday. About 45 students with special needs, ranging from six through 21, applied ninja training to compete in a basic martial arts-inspired competition.

The event, which ran from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., showcased sparring and martial arts basics taught by occupational therapists with Black Belt degrees. Karate for All’s tournament aims at developing motor, cognitive and social development while also teaching self-defense.

Karate for All focuses on occupational therapy for children and adults with needs ranging from autism to cerebral palsy. Classes take place daily. To sign up for a consultation, call 714-731-4668.
